Level 2 is for experienced members who want to go faster, for long distance paddling (e.g. touring) or racing.
Our Level 2 boards are made of fibre glass or carbon fibre. Access to level 2 requires this checkout, to ensure good paddling technique and appropriate care of the more fragile boards.
Please read the following points and make a self-assessment on whether you qualify for this checkout.
You need to have taken other boards out 10 times at the club, and should be able to paddle to Kits beach and back in with no rest in under 45 mins each way. Or alternatively you have owned a carbon board or are otherwise already experienced and can safely handle similar fragile gear.
Please come 10 minutes early ready to go with wet suit/swim gear on! Late arrivals will not be able to complete checkout as we will start on time. Be prepared to have fun and get wet.
